The Dyslexia – SpLD Trust
The Trust aims to ensure that in order for children with Dyslexia SpLD to succeed in school there is:
- A focus on high quality teaching practices by all teachers
- Access to specialist teachers and resources
- Early intervention and early action for those at greatest risk of failing
- Acceptance of the importance of Dyslexia/SpLD as a major contributor to educational under achievement and a strong risk factor for limited life opportunities
Dyspraxia Foundation
The Dyspraxia Foundation defines dyspraxia as:
Dyspraxia, a form of developmental coordination disorder (DCD) is a common disorder affecting fine and/or gross motor coordination, in children and adults. While DCD is often regarded as an umbrella term to cover motor coordination difficulties, dyspraxia refers to those people who have additional problems planning, organising and carrying out movements in the right order in everyday situations. Dyspraxia can also affect articulation and speech, perception and thought.
